TAKOS was founded in 2020 in Lorca with the aim of reinventing the Mexican food experience. Today, it boasts restaurants, franchises, and a central production facility that ensures authentic flavor, efficient management, and high profitability for its partners.
1. When and how was the brand born?
TAKOS was founded in 2020 in Lorca, after more than twenty years immersed in the hospitality industry. During that time, we learned a great deal about what works, what's best to avoid, and, above all, we nurtured the desire to create something with its own identity, something that was more than just a restaurant and truly connected with people. This is how TAKOS & Mexican Food emerged: a concept inspired by Mexican cuisine, adapted with fusions and ingredients that resonate with local tastes, designed to be a solid, well-structured business where the overall experience matters as much as the food itself.
2. What is your current structure?
We currently have four restaurants open: three managed directly by us, located in the Parque Almenara Shopping Center in Lorca, the Zig Zag Leisure Center in Murcia, and the Jaén Plaza Shopping Center in Jaén. The fourth is in the Parque Mediterráneo Shopping Center in Cartagena, our first franchised location, managed by franchisees who will also be opening a new location in Cieza this September, bringing our total to five restaurants.
3. What initial investment do you require to join the network, and how long do you estimate it will take to recoup the investment?
The initial investment starts at around €100,000, always depending on the final project. Thanks to our optimized structure and the support we provide from headquarters, we have managed to recoup this investment in our own locations within an average of two to three years.
4. What revenue do you project for the first year, and what do you believe are the advantages of your business model for those interested in franchising it?
All our restaurants have exceeded €600,000 in their first year, and currently operate with annual revenues ranging from €700,000 to €1 million.
We have our own production facility where we prepare our proteins, desserts, and much more using homemade recipes. This allows us to offer a very distinctive flavor and cost control that is hard to match.
Furthermore, we centralize and consolidate our network of small suppliers from this same facility, preventing each restaurant from having to manage multiple daily orders. This greatly simplifies daily operations, reduces lead times, and improves profit margins.
5. What are your premises requirements?
We are looking for premises of at least 140 m², with a smoke vent and a terrace, located in high-traffic pedestrian areas or shopping centers.
6. What kind of franchisee are you looking for?
We want committed individuals, eager to lead a project with a strong identity and promising future. Prior experience in the hospitality industry isn't essential, as we provide all the necessary training and support. However, we especially value those who understand what it means to run their own business, as they naturally appreciate the peace of mind and advantages offered by such a structured model as ours.
7. Can you describe the qualities that distinguish your brand from the competition?
TAKOS has a unique DNA. We draw inspiration from Mexican cuisine, but we reinterpret our recipes with fusions and ingredients that resonate with local tastes, always maintaining that festive and flavorful essence we want to convey.
What truly sets us apart is our kitchen: there, we not only prepare a large part of our homemade recipes, but we also centralize logistics and consolidate suppliers, allowing us to reduce food costs and simplify the daily management of each location. This is something few brands can offer with such solidity, and it makes a significant difference in both profitability and operational control. Add to that a modern store concept, a carefully curated atmosphere, and a team that lives the project with genuine passion, and the result is a franchise with enormous potential.
